Weekly Reset & Reflection Journal Template
A 15-minute, five-prompt Friday ritual that turns the week's wins and losses into a specific plan for next week instead of carried-over stress.
What's inside
- 5 fill-in-the-blank prompts run as a 15-minute Friday ritual
- A facts-only numbers section with no story attached yet
- The "name the specific skill" fields for both the best and hardest moments of the week
- The "carrying into Monday" release field with a required release sentence
- The next-week action field that requires a concrete, checkable marker instead of a vague goal
- The closing read-aloud step that ends the ritual
A 15-minute Friday ritual — 5 prompts that turn this week into next week's plan
Do this at the end of your last working day of the week, before you log off — not Monday morning, when the week has already gone cold and lost its detail. Fill in every field; one-word answers defeat the purpose.
Week of: _______________
1. The numbers (2 minutes) — facts only, no story yet
- Calls / meetings this week: _______
- Pipeline created: _______
- Deals moved forward / closed: _______
- One number that surprised me (up or down): _______________________________
2. The best moment (3 minutes) — what skill was actually working
Describe one specific moment this week that went well — a call, a question, a save. Not "good week overall," one concrete moment.
_________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________
What specific skill was I using in that moment? (name it precisely — "asked a follow-up instead of pitching," not "good communication")
_________________________________________________________________
3. The hardest moment (3 minutes) — what it was actually testing
Describe one specific moment this week that was hard — a loss, an objection you fumbled, a call you dreaded.
_________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________
What skill was being tested here, and how did I do — honestly, not generously?
_________________________________________________________________
4. What I'm carrying that I shouldn't be (3 minutes) — the release
Name one thing from this week — a loss, a comment, a comparison to someone else's number — that is still sitting in your chest right now. Write it down specifically. Then write one sentence about why it does not need to follow you into Monday.
Carrying: _________________________________________________________________ Why it can stay here: _________________________________________________________________
5. Next week's one thing (4 minutes) — specific, not a vague goal
Not "prospect more" or "close more deals." One specific, observable action tied to the skill from Question 3.
Next week I will: _________________________________________________________________ I'll know I did it because: _________________________________________________________________ (a concrete, checkable marker — "5 role-played opens with a peer," not "feel more confident")
Before you close this: Read back your answer to Question 4 out loud, once. That's the line between this week and next week — say it, then close the laptop.
How to use it
Fill this out for 15 minutes at the end of every work week, in the same document each time, so that after a month you can flip back and see the pattern in what's actually working and what keeps showing up as "hardest."
