Voicemail & Email Objection-Prevention Templates

Ten word-for-word async outreach templates — five voicemail scripts paired with five matching emails — that name and defuse the five most common objections before a live call even starts.

What's inside

  • 5 word-for-word voicemail scripts (under 30 seconds each)
  • 5 matching email templates with subject lines
  • Coverage across price, trust, competitor, timing, and proof objections
  • Placeholder / fill-in-field legend
  • Sequencing guidance — which to send first and when

The idea: don't wait for the objection on a live call — name it first, in an async channel, where the prospect can absorb the answer without feeling cornered. This is inoculation, not persuasion.

Placeholder legend: [First Name] [Your Name] [Company] [Category] [Competitor] [Calendar link] [Specific proof point/stat] — replace all before sending.

Sequencing: send the email first (or same day), then leave the matching voicemail within 24 hours referencing that you sent something. Reversing the order works too — just be consistent so the prospect isn't hearing/reading two unrelated messages.

1. Price / Budget Preemption

Voicemail (≈25 sec):

"Hi [First Name], this is [Your Name] from [Company]. I know cost is usually the first question, so let me save you the guesswork — [Company] typically runs [$X–$Y] for a team your size, and most clients see that pay for itself inside [X months] through [specific outcome]. I'll follow up with an email that breaks that down. If it's useful, grab 15 minutes here: [Calendar link]. Thanks, [First Name]."

Email — Subject: "The budget number, upfront"

Hi [First Name], Most people I talk to want the price before anything else, so here it is: [Company] runs [$X–$Y] for a team of [size], and [X]% of clients recover that in the first [timeframe] through [specific result — e.g. a 12% lift in close rate]. If the range works, here's 15 minutes to see if the fit is right: [Calendar link] If it doesn't, no hard feelings — just let me know and I'll close the loop. [Your Name]

2. Trust / Legitimacy Preemption

Voicemail:

"Hi [First Name], [Your Name] from [Company] — you may not have heard of us, which is fair. Quick anchor: we work with teams like [2–3 recognizable names or 'teams in your industry'], and [specific proof point — e.g. 200+ sales teams]. I'll send a case study your way — if it's relevant, let's grab 15 minutes: [Calendar link]."

Email — Subject: "In case you haven't heard of us"

Hi [First Name], Fair chance you haven't come across [Company] yet. Quick anchor: [2–3 proof points / logos / stat]. Attached is a short case study from a team similar to yours. If it's relevant, here's 15 minutes: [Calendar link] [Your Name]

3. Competitor / "We Already Have Something" Preemption

Voicemail:

"Hi [First Name], [Your Name] here from [Company]. I'm guessing you've already got something in place for [Category] — most teams we work with did too. What tends to bring them to us is [specific gap the incumbent doesn't solve]. I'll send over a quick comparison — if it's relevant, here's 15 minutes: [Calendar link]."

Email — Subject: "Assuming you already have [Category] covered"

Hi [First Name], You're probably already using something for [Category] — most of our customers were too. The reason they switched (or added us) usually comes down to [specific gap]. I've attached a quick side-by-side. Worth 15 minutes? [Calendar link] [Your Name]

4. Timing Preemption

Voicemail:

"Hi [First Name], [Your Name] from [Company]. I know timing's everything, so I'll keep this to 10 seconds: if [specific trigger, e.g. Q3 planning] isn't on your radar yet, no worries — just tell me the better window and I'll come back then. If it is on your radar, here's 15 minutes: [Calendar link]."

Email — Subject: "Bad time? Tell me when's better"

Hi [First Name], If now isn't the right window, just reply with when is — I'll come back then, no follow-up spam in between. If it IS relevant now, here's 15 minutes: [Calendar link] [Your Name]

5. Proof / "Does This Actually Work" Preemption

Voicemail:

"Hi [First Name], [Your Name] from [Company]. I know 'does this actually work' is the real question, so instead of a pitch — I'll send you the exact before/after numbers from a team like yours: [specific stat]. If that's compelling, let's talk: [Calendar link]."

Email — Subject: "The numbers, not the pitch"

Hi [First Name], Skipping the pitch. Here's what changed for a team like yours: [specific before/after metric]. If that's compelling, 15 minutes: [Calendar link]. If not, tell me what number WOULD be compelling and I'll see if we can show it. [Your Name]
