Quarterly Plan
Q1 (Jan–Mar)
| Month | Program |
| Jan | Annual Sales Kickoff (multi-day, all-hands) — new fiscal year message, one named skill theme for the year, competitive refresh |
| Jan | New-hire cohort #1 onboarding begins |
| Feb | Post-SKO reinforcement: day-30 retention pulse-check + manager cascade sessions |
| Mar | Q1 certification window — re-certification for any tenured rep who hasn't certified in 12 months |
Q2 (Apr–Jun)
| Month | Program |
| Apr | Manager coaching clinic — cross-manager skill-observation calibration session |
| May | Mid-year skill refresher — one focused topic, selected from Q1 pipeline/loss-reason data |
| Jun | New-hire cohort #2 onboarding + mentor/buddy program matching |
Q3 (Jul–Sep)
| Month | Program |
| Jul | Competitive/market refresh — mid-year landscape shift briefing |
| Aug | Manager 1:1 skill-review audit — spot-check a sample of scorecards across managers for calibration drift |
| Sep | Q3 certification window + planning kickoff for next year's SKO theme |
Q4 (Oct–Dec)
| Month | Program |
| Oct | Pre-kickoff readiness audit — skill gap analysis feeding directly into January's SKO agenda |
| Nov | New-hire cohort #3 onboarding (if hiring ramps before year-end territory resets) |
| Dec | Annual skill capability snapshot — org-wide rollup by skill category, shared with leadership as the input to next year's enablement budget ask |
Always-On Cadence (every month, regardless of quarter)
| Frequency | Activity |
| Weekly | Manager 1:1s with every rep — non-negotiable |
| Bi-weekly | Call-shadowing quota per manager: minimum 2 calls per rep per month |
| Monthly | Skill-review 1:1 (manager + rep, using scorecard trend) |
| Monthly | Enablement content library refresh — retire one stale asset, publish one new peer example |
| Quarterly | Manager calibration session — cross-manager scoring alignment |
How the Quarters Feed Each Other
- Q4's readiness audit is the direct input to Q1's kickoff agenda — don't build January's SKO from scratch; build it from what the audit flagged as weak.
- Q1's kickoff session scores (see the Sales Kickoff Session Feedback Scorecard) inform Q2's refresher topic selection.
- Q2's manager coaching clinic calibration data informs which skill categories need Q3's competitive/skill refresh.
- Q3's certification results feed the Q4 annual capability snapshot, which becomes next year's budget case (see the Sales Training ROI Calculator).
This is a closed loop, not four disconnected events — if a quarter's output isn't visibly shaping the next quarter's plan, the calendar has become an activity list instead of a program.
How to use it
Fill in your actual dates against each quarter's slots, set the always-on cadence rows into your team's recurring calendar invites first, and treat the feed-forward notes as a hard rule — don't plan a quarter's content until you've reviewed the prior quarter's output data.
