Sales 1:1 Meeting Agenda Template
A repeatable weekly 1:1 structure that balances pipeline check-ins, skill coaching, and career conversation so 1:1s stop being status updates.
What's inside
- Check-in opener (3 min)
- Pipeline pulse block with pre-fill fields the rep completes beforehand
- Skill coaching block with a live 3-minute role-play, every week
- Career conversation block with a 4-month rotating theme
- Commitments & close with one dated, owned action
- Manager's private trend-tracking notes section
A weekly 30–45 minute structure that guarantees pipeline, skill coaching, and career conversation all get airtime — every week, not just when there's time left over.
Ground rules
- This is the rep's meeting, not the manager's status check. The rep should send the agenda fields below filled in 30 minutes before the meeting.
- Same time, every week. Cancelling a 1:1 tells a rep their development is optional.
- No pipeline review should take more than 10 minutes. If it's running long, that's a sign it needs its own separate meeting.
Agenda (30–45 min)
1. Check-in (3 min)
Rep leads.
- How are you doing this week — energy, workload, anything outside work I should know about?
2. Pipeline pulse (10 min)
Rep leads, manager listens for coaching moments — not a number recital.
- Rep fills in before the meeting:
- Deals moved forward this week: [ ]
- Deals stuck — and why (be specific, not "just slow"): [ ]
- One deal you want a second opinion on: [ ]
- Manager asks: "What's the riskiest deal on your list right now, and what would make it less risky?"
3. Skill coaching (12–15 min)
The core of the meeting — do not skip or shorten this for pipeline overrun.
- Named skill focus this week: [from most recent call review / coaching plan]
- What's one specific moment from a recent call where this skill showed up (well or not)?
- Practice: role-play one variation of that moment right now, live, for 3 minutes.
- What's one thing you'll do differently on your next call because of this?
4. Career conversation (7–10 min)
Rotate focus monthly: Month 1 = skills to build, Month 2 = internal mobility/next role, Month 3 = what "great" looks like at the next level, Month 4 = repeat.
- What's one thing you want to be able to do a year from now that you can't do today?
- What's getting in the way of building that right now?
- What's one thing I can do to help this month?
5. Commitments & close (3–5 min)
- One committed action from this 1:1: [specific, owned, dated]
- What do you need from me before next week?
- Anything I should know that we haven't covered?
Manager's private notes (not shared live — fill in after)
- Trend I'm noticing over the last 4 weeks:
- Skill trajectory (improving / plateaued / regressing) on: [named skill]
- Flight risk / engagement read:
- Follow-up for next 1:1:
How to use it
Send this template to reps to pre-fill the pipeline and skill-coaching sections before each weekly 1:1, then run the meeting section by section, holding firm on skill coaching and career blocks even when pipeline review wants to eat the clock.
