Close Plan Template (Multi-Threaded)

A visual close plan mapping every stakeholder, their concern, and the specific action that moves them to yes - built for multi-threaded enterprise deals where no single champion can carry the signature alone.

How to use it

Build one stakeholder map per active multi-threaded deal, update it after every buyer interaction, and share the Mutual Close Plan section directly with your champion so both sides are tracking the same milestones.

What's inside

  • Deal snapshot header fields
  • Stakeholder map table (11 columns) with a worked example row
  • Decision process and competing-options fields
  • Mutual close plan milestone table
  • Top-3 risk register with mitigation
  • Champion test section
  • Pre-signature commitment checklist

Stakeholder map

Fill one row per person who can help, delay, or kill this deal. Do not skip low-visibility roles (security reviewer, procurement analyst) - they kill more enterprise deals than the economic buyer does.

Champion test

Ask your champion these two questions directly - if they can't answer both confidently, you don't have a real champion yet:

  • 'If I weren't in the room, could you defend this decision to your CFO using only what you know right now?'
  • 'Who in this building could still say no to this, and have you talked to them?'

Pre-signature commitment checklist

  • Every stakeholder row has a non-blank Sentiment and Action
  • No stakeholder row has been 'Unknown' for more than one review cycle
  • Mutual close plan has been explicitly shared with and confirmed by the buyer, not just held internally
  • All three top risks have a named owner
  • Champion test has been asked and answered in the last 2 weeks
