Async Demo Video Swipe File

Scripts and a shot-list for recorded, on-demand demo videos built to outperform a live call for time-poor or multi-stakeholder asynchronous buyers.

What's inside

  • Video type comparison table (teaser, full tour, deep-dive, recap)
  • Hook line bank (5 opening-line variants)
  • Full word-for-word 7-minute demo video script with timestamps
  • Shot list checklist for recording
  • CTA line bank (4 closing-ask variants)
  • Subject line bank for the email carrying the video

Scripts and shot-lists for recorded, on-demand demo videos — for buyers who won't get on a call, or as a leave-behind after a live demo. A tight async video regularly outperforms a live call for time-poor or multi-stakeholder async buyers because it can be watched, paused, and forwarded on their schedule.

Video Types

TypeLengthUse case
Personalized teaser2–3 minCold/warm outreach, pre-meeting hook
Full async product tour6–10 minReplaces a live discovery demo for slow-to-book prospects
Feature deep-dive clip60–90 secAnswering one specific question raised in an email/call
Post-demo recap video3–5 minSent within an hour of a live demo, for forwarding to absent stakeholders

Hook Lines Bank (first 5 seconds — use one, don't stack)

  1. "Hey [Name], I recorded this specifically for [Company] — not a generic demo."
  2. "You mentioned [specific pain] on our call — this is exactly how we solve that, 3 minutes, no fluff."
  3. "Before you forward this to [stakeholder], here's the 90-second version of why this matters to them specifically."
  4. "I know you're slammed, so I recorded this instead of asking for another meeting."
  5. "This is the exact screen you asked about — skip to 1:40 if you just want that part."

Full Script — 7-Minute Async Product Tour

[0:00–0:20] Hook + Context "Hi [Name], this is [Rep], recording this specifically for [Company]. On our call you told me [specific pain in their words] is costing you [specific consequence]. This video shows exactly how [Product] fixes that — nothing generic, just the parts that matter to you."

[0:20–1:00] Frame the Before/After "Right now your team is doing [current painful process]. By the end of this, you'll see how that becomes [desired future state] — I'll show you the actual screen, not slides."

[1:00–4:30] Core Demo (screen recording, narrated)

  • Scene 1: Show the exact workflow tied to their #1 stated pain
  • Scene 2: Show the second pain point, with a proof point dropped in ("[Similar Customer] cut this from 3 days to 20 minutes")
  • Scene 3: Show one thing they didn't ask about but will care about (a differentiator vs. the competitor they're evaluating)

[4:30–5:30] Proof "Here's [Customer], same size company, same industry as you — this is the actual quote from their [role]: '[verbatim quote].'"

[5:30–6:30] Address the Likely Objection Preemptively "Now, you might be thinking [common objection] — here's how that actually plays out: [answer]."

[6:30–7:00] CTA "[Name], if this looks like what you need, the next step is [specific action — e.g., '15-min call with your team to scope rollout']. I've put a link below — grab whatever time works for you, or just reply to this email with questions."

Shot List (for the recorded portion)

  • Webcam bubble on for hook and CTA (face-first, builds trust); can switch to screen-only for the middle demo section
  • Cursor highlighter/zoom enabled so small UI elements are visible on playback
  • Pre-loaded environment with data relevant to their industry — never generic seed data
  • Captions/subtitles burned in or auto-generated (most async viewers watch muted first)
  • Thumbnail custom-set with their company name/logo visible, not a random freeze-frame
  • Video trimmed tight — no dead air, no "let me just pull this up," no ums during editing pass

CTA Line Bank

  1. "Reply with a time that works — I'll send the invite."
  2. "Here's a link to grab 15 minutes whenever suits you: [link]."
  3. "If you want to loop in [other stakeholder], forward this — happy to do a live version for the two of you together."
  4. "No need to reply if this isn't a fit right now — just let me know and I'll stop following up."

Subject Lines for the Carrying Email

  1. "[Company] — the 3-minute version of what we discussed"
  2. "Recorded this instead of asking for another meeting"
  3. "The part you asked about, cued up at 1:40"
  4. "For [Name] to forward to [Stakeholder] — no meeting required"

How to use it

Pick the video type that matches the situation, adapt the matching script with your own product screens and customer specifics, then follow the shot list when recording and pair it with a subject line from the bank.
